National Sleep Awareness Week is March 7th-13th 2011. The plan or rules are:
Try to get 7-9 hours of sleep each night and commit to set a bedtime and wake time.
Night #1: Create an optimal sleeping atmosphere. Make your bedroom as dark and quiet as possible. Adjust the temperature so that the room is cool.
Night #2: Do not consume alcohol, caffeine, or nicotine 3 hours before bedtime.
Night #3: Avoid snacks before bed and stay away from foods high in sugar or grains.
Night #4: Relax right before bedtime. Consider a hot bath, meditation, yoga, or listen to soothing sounds/music.
Night #5: Do not drink any fluids within 2 hours of your bedtime. Use the bathroom right before bed.
Night #6: Excercise in the evening, but be sure to complete your workout at least 3 hours before your bedtime.
Night #7: Remove common distractions at least 2 hours before bedtime, such as watching TV or using your laptop/computer.
I am honored! Thank you! Peace and blessings to you my new found friend! =-)
